This word is part of the Pauline triad, which regularly appear in Paul's letters. The other two words are love and faith. The triad is found in1:

- 1 Corinthians 13:13
- Galatians 5:5
- Colossians 1:4-5
- 1 Thessalonians 1:3
- 1 Thessalonians 5:8
Additionally, the triad is also found in Hebrews 6:10-12, Hebrews 10:22-24, 1 Peter 1:3-8 and 1 Peter 1:21-22.
