It seems like debates regarding homosexuality has flared up again recently. Fueled by news regarding (proposed) same-sexed marriage legislation in the USA, UK and France, as well as bans on "homosexual propaganda" in Russia, everyone is weighing in their two cents. Harold Camping Apologises

On 22 May 2011, the world still existed. This was (in)significant, because of the furore caused by Harold Camping, who predicted the end of the world on 21 May 2011. He also claimed that no churches, except his, were still preaching the truth of the Christian faith. After 21 May, Camping claimed a misinterpretation and moved the predicted date to 21 October 2011. After this date, when the world still had not ended, Camping was reportedly distraught. Read more …

Homosexuals and Communion

Recently the BBC News website ran a story which made me think a bit about certain secular and church attitudes. The story was published on 28 February and was about protests in the Netherlands to allow homosexuals to partake in Communion. In brief, the story is about a recent upheaval in the Netherlands against the Roman Catholic church's policy of denying practising homosexuals Communion (also known as the Eucharist).
